Siam Elephant Safari

Hi guys, today let me share about our half day trip to Siam Elephant Safari. Since, the children are very excited to meet up close and personal with elephants, I decided to book up this trip. Based on the numerous elephant trekking available in Phuket, Siam Elephant Safari received the highest rating in Tripadvisor. A lot of the time people expresses their satisfaction on how excellent the Safari been managed and how kind the mahouts take care of the gentle giants.

I've book the tickets online, and it costs about MYR 480 for our family of 4 which includes transportation to and fro from the hotel, plus 30 min trekking. The driver arrives right on time and we had to rush at the main lobby. I didn't get the chance to finish up my breakfast. :p Haha!

Farissa was super excited for this activity

Ruzain don't even understand  where we are going

Long windy roads.. plastic bags anyone?

We picked up a few other  people along the way at Karon Beach and the total journey took us about 45 minutes. The driver was truly professional and punctual. :) Anyway, once arrive you will be given stickers to ensure that you are in the right group. We got the purple stickers which means we are in the 30 mins trekking group.

Our guide then introduce us to our first elephant. I forgot her name but she is 8 yrs old, Farissa was really intrigue that the elephant is the same age as her. Hihi. Since, it has been numerous times that I touched and caress elephants, I had no problem hugging and feeding her. :) I just love the whole intimate experience.

Awww you are so adorable

Children can feed the elephant with a mere THB 100 per basket

Hey this floor is decorated like an elephant!

Ruzain got a turn

You got to read about some elephant FAQ right next to the elephant petting place

Ruzain wants a turn too!

Family picture! Smile. :)

We then walk up towards the elephant trekking place. It's not that far from the initial elephant petting enclosure. Here the guide introduce one of the elephant and 'the do's and don'ts'. For example, we are not allowed to make up noise because that might spook the elephants. We move out with a group of 10 elephants by twos. Ruzain ride with papa while Farissa ride with mom.

Elephant trekking!!
Hi Papa and adek!

Breathtaking views

Adek seemed so relax on the elephant

Farissa was too!

Here is our group.. walking in a line..
It was a magical experiences for both the kids and us. The ride is absolutely safe (I even saw a 6 month year baby up on the elephant), both the mom and baby was quite relax as well. After the trekking we are allowed to take photos of our elephant plus we are also able to feed them (of course with a price). Ruzain did not want to feed his elephant this time round. As you can see from the picture below, this 43 year old elephant is huge!

Would we want to do this again, most definitely is it by Siam Safari. :) Highly recommended. You can also read my review in tripadvisor.

Farissa and her new pal!
Awww they seemed really hungry mommy

Phuket Jungceylon Day 1

The first thing we tried out when going out of the hotel was to ride the tuk tuk. You can actually try to bargain on the price of the ride but it totally depends on the driver mood. Everywhere in Patong tuk tuk drivers will charge you for about 200THB per ride around the town. We got ours for 150 THB from Holiday Inn to Jungceylon. Totally a walking distance but since we are still quite unfamiliar with the place we decided to just go by tuk tuk.

Both of the kids are super excited trying out such a fun new thing. Except I kept reminding Farissa to put her arms in the moving tuk tuk. The roads here are quite hectic with motorist and transportation are very near to one another.

Our first tuk tuk, we had many after this one. :)
Jungceylon is like any other normal shopping mall, fully air condition but because we came from the KL city, it was quite a disappointment for me. Anyway, the point of coming here was to purchase a couple of souvenirs for friends and family. We went straight up to 1st floor where many of the stalls were selling 100THB per packet of each souvenirs.

Many were forms of magnets, key chains, purses and shawls. Most of the smaller items will come in bigger packs (more value for money). However, we did not purchase any of our t-shirts here. I decided to wait a bit to find a better bargain somewhere else.

Front of the mall

Kitty cat to greet us by the door
After shopping we went down to lower ground to try out the Food Bazaar. I've done quite a bit of reading and I am confident that there a few HALAL stalls here. Voila I was right! Most people will definitely noticed that I am a muslim (because of the head covering). One brother upon us entering the food bazaar quickly showed us the HALAL stalls. Alhamdullilah, there were 3. One stall owned a halal cert, Bismilla Kitchen, 2 others inform us all of the food came from a HALAL vendors. So, we placed simple menu which was tom yum chicken, sweet and sour chicken and prawn omelet. Everything was so delicious and only cost us about 600THB.

Another muslim couple

Bismilla Kitchen

Very clean and comfortable

We ordered out ABC here.

Farissa with her souvenirs!

Mr. Bob have trouble communicating with the stall owner so a brother came to help him with the ordering

OOooh yummy

Such nice omelet..

Ok that's it folks!! Another entry for another day..

Latest Ideas for Our New Home from IKEA

I've been meaning to share with you guys some display from IKEA. A couple of weeks ago, the familia went to IKEA Cheras for the sake of exploring the new launch of IKEA Cheras. I swear to you it has been months since our last visit. Huhu. The new place was humongous and the kids (especially Farissa) was super excited to try out the new Smale' Land. It was CNY morning and we were very early, the place was quiet with few patrons. We decided to have our breakfast first and send off Farissa to Smaland afterwards.

We got ourselves 1 hour before we had to pick up Farissa from Smaland (poor Ruzain was still a couple of centimetres short). Next time baby ok?

The most important think for us to grab ideas was the kitchen, so we went straight to the kitchen displays. The newest design is the METOD kitchen. I am liking the sleek cupboard doors and truly set my mind of having an island in our new house.

Love the glass subway tiles as backsplash

The wall cabinet with purple glass doors was super amazing
Yup my cheeky little rascals is here with us to look around.

Gosh this back splash is also so nice right?

Price wise is a little bit pricey considering you need to built up everything yourself

Laundry rooms with plenty of space to fold up cloths and hang them

What about this gorgeous simple dining room. I just love the chandeliers

My future work table maybe? Hehe
Last but not least, I feel truly madly deeply in love with this room with pink and whites. Something to pounder over for Farissa's future bedroom perhaps. I'm loving the name on the wall and full glass wall. Would be great for Farissa dancing and performing practices. :)
